Burned

On Friday I was working on some honeycomb style pendants and the tubing was getting short after making a few of them. I decided to attach the two tubes together and then while I was waiting for that to cool I cleaned up the end of a 12mm clear rod. I thought the tubing would still be warm so I started to clean up the shorts of color. While attempting to pick up one of the shorts the back of my finger touched the clear rod and left a nice mark :( Anywho here is some of the honeycombs I made the past week.

We are heading out with Zoey at 5 today to drop her off at Laurie's :( We were hoping to take her for a walk today but lots of rain this morning. I'll probably end up cleaning the studio when we get back and maybe take pictures tonight for the website. Stitch got a new toy so he will probably get his picture taken too :)

Finally Spring!

It's finally spring! It's also been very cold! We haven't been using the woodstove lately since there is one days worth of wood left. I have been working a lot on pendants the past few days, got a few very good ones :) Here's a picture of a pendant I mentioned in previous post, it is also about the same as the one I sent into the exchange.

I forgot to take pictures of the pendants I sent into the exchange :/ I sent three in; filagree, implosion and one like the picture above.

Farmer's market is coming up very soon! We are going to get quotes for insurance today for the market :) Then on the 2nd of April there is a meeting. The first day of the farmer's market is on May 7th! We haven't really planned our layout yet but will post some pictures when we start working on that.

Zoey is heading for surgery on the 29th! We won't have her back till April 10th! We will miss that little puppy :(

Been a while

We have been having so much fun with Zoey!! We uploaded two videos on youtube of Zoey playing in the snow after the recent storm, she loves fresh powdery snow :) It is funny to see her hop in an area that is about as deep as she is tall. She loves to cuddle, she will play fetch with me for about 5-10minutes then jump in my lap to sleep. Sometimes she will wake up after a while then play fetch for a minute and hop back onto my lap.

Andrea sent in a flower based fish for the animal exchanged mentioned in previous post and here it is :)

I have been trying new things with boro; sea creatures, beads, new pendant styles (one came out amazing and will post pictures once Andrea takes pictures), aliens using eye cane I made from Pipyr's class and a few other things.

Here is a boro focal bead I made Friday, my favorite so far!

We got our puppy!!!

It has almost been a week since we got Zoey! The first night, Friday, I was taking Zoey outside and she got frightened and backed out of her harness!! I tried to get her but she got more nervous so I ran to our bedroom window and started knocking to get Andrea's attention. Andrea came out and Zoey ran into her arms. That was a very scary experience.

Zoey is still getting used to being here, still shakes in certain situations. So far today she has not had any accidents inside the house :) The first few days we baby'ed her and she took advantage of it. She is really smart and the first time teaching her to walk/wait/come was succesful in minutes (once we knew how to train her properly)! We will have some videos on youtube soon :) One is her rolling flipped over in her doggy bed.

I torched today for the first time in a few weeks. My right side was swollen from tendonites, I didn't know it could swell up that bad. The swelling went down and I started doing excercises to hopefully prevent it from coming back. I only did a few soft glass beads, haven't done any since December I think. First color I picked was a shocky one and I still jumped when it popped. Boro is definately my favorite still :)

I sold my first boro marble a few days ago! It is the one with a picture from the first post on the blog. Also Andrea and I joined exchanges on Torch Bugs forum. I am doing a soft glass, boro and fused pendant exchange and I'll be sending in two boro pendants. Not sure what I am going to make for it yet since I have some ideas for new pendants. Andrea is doing an animal themed bead, sculpture, and jewelry exchange. These are our first exchanges so we are both excited. Andreas ends early in March and mine at the end. I'll post pictures of what we make and recieve.

Zoey info :)

Our new doggy's original name is Charm but she is not used to the name so we are switching her name to Zoey. She was born Nov 6th 07. Right now she weighs 8 lbs! Zoey is a chocolate/tan dappled miniature Dachshund (we call her a mini mini though because she's so tiny!). Her current owner is a mini Dachshund breeder, but she got Zoey from a breeder up north. She was kept in a crate most of her first year, and unfortunately was bred at 9 months old before she went to her current owner. Because of being bred at such a young age, and also Zoey is very small, she now has two hernias that she will have surgery to remove, probably the beginning of March. She is such a loveable puppy! We are very excited to spoil her :). We will be picking her up next week after she gets her rabies shot boosted.

My boro color order came in but it might be a few before I use it. I hurt my right arm, hand, shoulder and neck :/ I got a lot of colors for backing of implosion and other type of pendants :)

Andrea started using her zoozii's straight sided lentil press after a long break due to frustration, here are my favorites! More in our Etsy Shop :)

That's all for now, I will post lots and lots of pictures once we get Zoey! :) Also, probably update our YouTube with puppy videos.
