Green Ochre

I recently pulled a few new handmixed colors and found a few good recipes.
This color was equal parts light ivory and light violet comes out to a green ochre.

Handblown Shells

I was recently inspired by the spring marine & aquatic issue of The Flow Magazine. There was an amazing photo of some shells made by Vittorio Costantini and I decided to make a few shells of my own. I was only planning to make a few but then I got hooked on making them :)

Handpulled Green

I occasionally pull my own colors but I never keep a record of them . I decided to start posting some results in the blog to have as a reference.

The left rod if moretti nile green, the right rod is moretti pea green. The middle rod is a hand mixed rod of pea green and periwinkle blue. I didn't measure the ratio of the colors that were using in the mixed rod but I will start to for future pulls.

Double Helix Colors

I have been able to start stockpiling more Double Helix glass rods lately (mostly seconds) and that means more playing with color combos :) I will try to regularly post successful combos that worked for me.
This focal has a base of moretti black with Terranova light dots that have been twisted.

This focal has black ends covered with Pysche, reduced and encased in moretti clear. The center ismoretti black with moretti light ivory dots and moretti light turquoise dots.

Thanks for looking!

Decorating

We found a sweet computer desk by the dumpster recently and decorated it with some of my paperweights.

Lizard Paperweights

I've been recently trying to keep the paperweights a bit bigger as the normal size which has allowed me to fit two lizards on a paperweight :) Maybe an extra lizard will try to sneak on a future paperweight! These little guys are on Etsy.
