Ductwork is almost finished!

Hey Everyone! The duct work is almost complete, we just have to put the outside piece on and get the blower wired in to finish it. Our dads did a great job putting it all together last night!

We also have to get a little more plumbing added to the outside of the studio since the propane tank has to be farther from out studio than originally planned. Also, Here are some cool photos from around the studio!

Gotta have some glass! Seas

I'll be at the Peterborough Farmer's Market today between 3-6 so stop by if you're around!

Studio Progress!

We're ALMOST done with the studio set up! The hood is in place, the blower and duct work will be put up tomorrow! (By the way, I ordered the duct work this morning from Masi Plumbing in Milford, and he had it for me by 2PM, talk about crazy fast!) Then we will just have to have the blower wired in, get the propane approved, bring in the torches and viola! :) We'll be sending out a newsletter for class sign ups as soon as we're up and running.

Here's a snapshot of the table (just needs stainless top put on) with the hood in place

And my super-cool sister came up from Boston to check out the space! (Yes, our license plate says "BEADMKR"!)

More updates to come, and we'll be at both the Peterborough Farmer's Market this Wednesday from 3-6 and also the Amherst Farmer's Market on Thursday from 2:30-5:45ish (I have to leave a little early).

Studio Update and a Custom Order

Hey! We're making quick progress with the studio!

We've already got some new outlets put in for the kiln and our oxygen concentrators. On Wednesday we picked up the ventilation hood (which is amazing by the way-check out that craftsmanship!), and also the plumbing was done for the propane. Yesterday, we picked up some awesome stainless steel table tops we found on craigslist. Today, Jason will be getting the blower for the ventilation, and also the workstation to put the table tops on. :)

Eastern Vent Systems made this hood in less than two days (it's 6' X 2')! You can see Jason in the photo, taking apart the chair that I assembled wrong....

Here's a quick photo of the plumbing for the propane, which was also done amazingly fast by Wetherbee Plumbing and Heating

Now, we just have to have the ductwork put in, get the approval on the propane and set up the torches.

Gotta have some glass eye candy in every post, so here's a quick photo of a custom order. A tiny evil eye pendant!

Dragonfly Custom Order

Hey everyone!

We've had a super busy week and weekend so I'm just stopping in real quick! Here's a dragonfly custom order that Jason just completed this morning. :) A wired up pendant which later went on one of our hand dyed silk cords, and matching earrings.

We're getting the propane plumbed into the studio this week as well as getting the hood manufactured!! Our goal is to have most of the studio set up by the weekend - we'll see!

"Before" Photos of the Studio

Here are some photos that I took of the studio yesterday, totally empty! We will be having propane plumbed in and some extra outlets put in and then we will move all of our torches, etc. We are also sharing the space with Cadence from Cadence Innovative Designs so she'll be moving in soon too!

This will be the retail section-view from the door

And the view from the windows (okay, so its not totally empty)

Check out all that natural light! (Haha, yes, this was taken while laying down)

Just had to finish with a self portrait :)

More updates soon!

Hey everyone!

Jason and I signed the lease for our new studio space yesterday! It is located in the Riverview Artist Mills in Wilton, NH. We're so excited to start moving in! Here's a couple of cheesy photos :) We'll be posting more as we clean/move in.

And a cool bead photo for good measure :)

Organic Style Beads from Jason

Organic beads are definitely one of my favorite styles. Fine silver and blue silver leaf when mixed with ivory and other colors create amazing striations and reactions. Organic beads look as if you could have found them at some archaeological dig.

Jason has been working a lot with blue silver leaf lately, as well as mixing silver leaf with rich premium silver glasses from Double Helix. Here are just a few of the recent ones to come out of the kiln. Some are listed on Etsy already, so I have provided the links :)

Also, we are signing the lease for our new studio space today! :)
