Baking Soda Beads!

The baking soda beads I made yesterday came out really cool! I'm pleased with the results and will probably make some more this weekend. :) I love the texture it makes on the surface of the beads. The first set is already listed, and the rest will be soon.

"Volcanic Rock"

I've gotta run to the Amherst Farmer's Market - It's from 2:30-6:30 on the village green so be sure stop by if you're around! :)

  1. These are so cool! This effect is so different from etching. I can think of some glasses that are just dying for this treatment.

  2. Hey! Thanks! I love the texture of the baking soda beads, they look like rocks or something. I used ivory in a few and it turned a mossy green but for some reason when I cleaned the beads this morning the green went away.

  3. Actually, I got the same thing. It was on some of the copper green ones I tried. It looked fantastic but when I soaked them prior to cleaning, the coating went all slimy and washed off. Baking soda that didn't burn in? Sadly, some of the color seemed to follow it :-(

  4. I think when they get slimy its because the baking soda wasn't melted fully in. It did happen to some of our copper green ones so maybe they just don't mix well?
