Power Back

We got power back yesterday around noon. We were both sick however so we didn't torch and ended up working on stripping some electrical wire and working on the copper bracelet using Jewlie Beads tutorial. We finished one but the wire wasn't straight so we need to get/make something to straighten it without damaging the wire. Maybe some torching today and making some orbit or scroll round bead sets. Off to rest a little more, will have the picture of the bracelet with next post.

Flooding is over, and took the power with it!

We have no power at the house so updating from the phone on wifi.

Yesterday the basement where the studio is started flooding. Jason spent most of the day shoveling water out until my dad picked up a pump. The pump worked great until the power went out around 11PM. So it was back to shoveling water all night for Jase!

It stopped raining at about 3AM and the flooding stopped after that. Hope we get power back soon! No torching until it's back :( We just bought mandrels and bead release too! We also just got a great package of mandrels and murrini from Sun Door Beads that we can't wait to try!

Beadroller

We ordered the classic four beadroller (has round, tube, disc and long barrel bead shapes) from CGBeads and it works great! I've been working on some sets with it and getting more used to it. We will definately be getting some more. I also worked with bullseye glass for the first time and seemed a lot stiffer to work with but was happy with a set I made below. The round beads were made with the new beadroller and focal was with Val Cox marver.

The lentil press also came in but it requires more glass than we thought to make a lentil so that will probably be put to the side for a few.

I'm loving the warmer weather, today was amazing out! On weather channel it says 44 for Monday's high!!!! Yaaay for warm weather :)

Spring is coming! + Sale

Today I was outside with Zoey, Andrea's mom and her new dog, Jack and she showed me some plants starting to make their way out of the ground! It's nice to see and makes me even more excited for spring! It even is starting to warm up a little in the studio which will make it much more bearable to torch longer :)

Been working on making sets now using the Val Cox marver which is going great. I have one finished set (pictured below) and a bunch that are almost complete and will finish those up this weekend. The Jim Moore lentil press will be here this coming Friday :)

We are starting to plan our shows/markets for this year and first one planned is Mother's Day Gift Show at the Radisson Hotel in Manchester, NH. This will be our first show so hope it goes well. We are hoping to do plenty of farmer's markets this year, so far we have heard from the Amherst, Peterborough and Newmarket markets.

Tomorrow is Zoey's first doggie play group! It is an hour long and hoping that goes well since she is scared of large dogs :( She has been getting better around people though! I brought her to the vet on Tuesday and she did not bark once! A much better visit than previous times, she barked about the whole time on those visits. So proud of my little hound haha :)

We are having a Valentine's day weekend sale with our Etsy shop, 20% off till midnight of Sunday EST. Here's the picture of first set finished using Val Cox marver :)

299 Hearts!

Our etsy shop has 299 hearts tonight! How exciting! :D Anywho we are going to be adding a new tool to our studio very soon, a Jim Moore lentil press! Trying to see if anyone has a used one on Lampwork Etc. right now but if none by Monday morning we will place an order for a new one. We bought a wonderful tutorial from JewlieBeads (http://www.etsy.com/shop/JewlieBeads) for making a copper wire bracelet. The tutorial calls for a lentil shaped bead but we only have a straight sided lentil press, which would probably work perfect but we both really like the look of a regular lentil bead quite a bit.

We are very excited for this years farmer's market season, we plan to have much more variety than last year. Last year we focused on pendants and focals on silk cords. This year we plan to have a good selection of beaded/lampwork earrings, bracelets, rings as well as our necklaces. We may bring some sculptures, candle holders and marbles as well but not completely sure how the layout of the table will be yet.

I've still been enjoying making some flowers lately, probably the longest I've made one type of bead :) I've been trying out new flowers but those don't have pictures yet so here are a few big hole beads I've made recently.

Flower Hearts

Yesterday I ended up making some flower hearts. Probably should have made them a little earlier for Valentine's day but oh well. Here's a few of them
